Working Mom Encouragement – I Samuel 2:11-20

Shift Your Worldview – Working mom encouragement from I Samuel 2:11-20

This week, the story of Hannah shows us a very credible model of “Faith over Fear” when it comes to leaving our children in the care of others.

Hannah released her only son into an “uncertain” future. Boy does that sound familiar! Not to be dramatic but I remember searching for a child care provider as a new mom. I remember visiting childcare centers and family childcare homes only to drive away in tears. The tears came because I knew my child needed care so that I could work. But at what cost? The providers that I could afford were far from ideal. The ideal providers were far from what I could afford! Not to mention the question of “How will they treat my child?” repeating over and over in my head as I mentally walked through various “what if” scenarios. At the time, the fear was very real.

But Hannah! Hannah’s simple solution was to give her son back to God. Though simple is not always easy, it starts with the decision to take the first step. Hannah decided that all that mattered was that she had given him back to God. Therefore, she released Samuel into God’s good hands. May we take the first step of deciding that we will trust God with our children. May we all trust Him to take care of them as He leads us in our mothering.

God bless!
